Surf the Pacific and the Caribbean from Playa Caracol
Panama is a surfing paradise. Yes, you can also surf Costa Rica or Nicaragua, or even Hawaii, but what this country provides surfers from all over the world is quite unique.
The province of Bocas del Toro, on Panama’s Caribbean coast, is the country’s top surf spot… on its Atlantic side! On the Pacific side you have Venao, Punta Chame and many other spots to fit your style and skill level. And how far apart are these beaches? Just minutes away by plane, or a few hour’s drive. You can actually surf on one side in the morning and then have another session in the evening in a totally different ocean!
Playa Caracol is a growing beachside community on Panama’s Pacific Riviera, just 90 minutes from Panama City and a few hour’s drive (or short plane ride) to other spots on either oceans. Caracol’s location near Chame Point is also a hot surfing spot with steady waves year-round, and a constant mountain breeze from the Cerro Chame hill that makes this an ideal place for kitesurf.
